Forum commentary I did from March 2008 through July 2008, when I didn't have time to do the detailed and extensive reports that I like to do, is being posted in early October, 2008. The primary themes are how the Nuggets are blowing a great (and expensive!) opportunity to play the game of basketball in such a way that respects the sport and that takes as much advantage as possible of who they have on the roster. The 2006-09 Nuggets have turned out to be an excellent case study of how not to run a basketball team; many things you should not do if you are a basketball manager or coach can be identified from what the Nuggets actually did during these years.
In these comments, do not look for the usual huge amount of detail and proof that you see in the ordinary releases here at Nuggets 1. Some of this is more like everyday conversation than like top quality sports writing. On the other hand, some of the comments do include some detailed reasoning and proof that I pride myself on in the primary reports I release.

LATE MARCH 2008 FORUM COMMENTARY ON THE NUGGETS, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THEIR MISTAKES
So the team that was expected to win the Northwest and finish with the 3rd-6th seed by most predictors is now going to finish a 2-3 road trip while they are in the 9th seed?
The underachievers underachieve some more. Has this team changed anything at all since November to change this? Anything?

Is this really a game for lottery positioning, where the loser is better off?
I know, that's too sarcastic, but losing to the Grizzlies makes you that way.

Thanks for all the votes and all the comments, I continue to think this is huge for the Nuggets. I have to go back to those AI/Yak November games and take a close look at those; I forgot about those.
After 1 1/2 days of voting around the internet, the total vote, counting the two posters just above who voted by posting, is:
29 Votes for A) Anthony Carter PG and Allen Iverson SG
51 Votes for B) Allen Iverson PG and J.R. Smith SG
10 Votes for C) Allen Iverson PG and Yakhouba Diawara SG
I want at least 300 votes, but am not sure I'm going to get much past 250 though. As of now, I am going to keep counting until I get at least 250 votes, or until the end of April, whichever comes last.
Anyone who hasn't voted, please vote if you know enough about the subject.

26-12 Blazers over Warriors.
Nuggets are most likely back in the playoffs, due to victories on the road over Toronto and Memphis in a back to back game. This win was less impressive, because what are the Mavericks without Nowitzki???
Still have to use this year's Pepsi Center magic to beat the Warriors this Saturday night, because if Nowitzki comes back soon, the Mavericks might start winning again.

Monta Ellis for the Warriors is great. J.R. Smith for the Nuggets is greater.

There's Smith in fantasyland again.

Karl was a total and complete jack-ass in this game, pure and simple. Carter did almost nothing out there in 31 minutes. What exactly is Carter's role now that Iverson is running the point more than Carter does in every game? Is the man blind? Is the whole coaching staff blind? They might as well be. Is Carter's role simply to make sure the Nuggets lose? I can't see any other possibility.
Karl is going to take the Nuggets down with his AC obsession, because he's not even trying to get Atkins ready anymore. It's a joke, but it's a damn shame too.
Nene was outstanding but played only 5 minutes, wtf? It was just total gross mismanagement of the Nuggets, pure and simple, and a disgrace to the sport actually. Why didn't the Nuggets just forfeit?
To say that Karl doesn't know what he is doing would be an understatement. No respectable coach with a team like the Nuggets loses a game by 13 points that he is leading by 19 points at the half. None whatsoever.
