Basketball School Videos

If you are a player, a coach, or a heavy duty fan, don't miss the videos on the Basketball School page. Some of them play right away and some of them need to be downloaded. The ones that need to be downloaded are worth the effort.

And how much effort is it, really, compared with the effort put out by Melo, A.I., Camby, Nene, and Blake, when they single-handedly defeated the Spurs starters and bench combined in game one of this year's playoff series. True, five can defeat ten only once in a blue moon, and it takes a half crazy coach to set up the experiment, but you have to recognize that it was a truly remarkable performance by these five Nuggets.

LeBron and the Cavs could not beat the Spurs once, using their starters and their bench.

Hitch Your Horse For Awhile, Partner

Hitch your horse, belly up to the bar, and stay awhile, partner. They used to say that quite a bit in Denver circa 1890, unless you were an outlaw, in which case they would challenge you to a duel. There is so much more than Nuggets game reports here that you could spend several hours a day here and profit nicely. Aside from total Nuggets news, there is complete sports news, with especially thorough coverage of all pro and major college sports teams in Colorado. For the latest up to the moment scores, go to +Nuggets 1 Scores and Stats.

Don't waste your valuable time going to a dozen sites to try to find out if anyone other than folks at Nuggets 1 is saying anything interesting about the Nuggets lately. Just go to the +Nuggets 1 Other Takes page and there you will find the latest Nuggets topics and opinions on all of the most important sites on one page, right here at Nuggets 1. Bookmark it, and save your valuable time from here on out.

You can find out every shred of news and watch the latest videos for your favorite player by going to that player's page. For stats, click on the link in the player's blue NBA box.

For state or community Colorado news, visit Colorado News. Find your city or town and get the latest news for exactly where you live. Colorado Weather offers the most complete one page covering Colorado and vicinity weather on the internet. On the Nuggets 1 front page, you can check the Denver traffic speeds and problems, the flight delays at the Airport, the skiing conditions on the ski hills, and you can quickly tune in to the latest news, talk, or sports on the Denver radio stations.

If you want to find out the latest Nuggets stuff up at ebay, check out +Nuggets 1 Buy and Sell. Listen to the theme songs and other music on the Music page, which will be developed much more. Get a whole heap of playing and coaching instruction, and find out many more flaws in George Karl's teachings than you knew of, by visiting the Basketball School. And don't forget to check out the extra stuff on the Extra page. There is some real interesting stuff there and it's, well, extra.

Videos can be found on many pages, including all of the player pages, but, as you might suspect, the Videos page is chock loaded with them. The Photos pages are under construction and you will see them developed over the next two months.

Finally, Nuggets 1 has just installed not one but two new ways for visitors to get their opinions out into cyberspace. You now have three choices: (1)You can comment on the blog entries, (2) you can talk on the simple chat style interface on the Talk page, or (3) you can help get the forum off the ground. The forum will take time to really get going, but we will get there in time, my friends. You are seeing this site in it's infancy, and all of these ways to talk will get more and more interesting as our audience grows in the coming months and years.

So hitch your horse, down some whiskey, and stay awhile. You will be glad you did, partner. But if you are an outlaw, and you don't think Carmelo Anthony is an elite player, then I challenge you to a duel.

Money, Bridges, and the Timberwolves

The levees in New Orleans and the bridge in Minneapolis are going to be the tips of the iceberg unless this country gets it's act together and stops spending most of it's tax money in other countries. It's going to take much more money than is being spent now in the boring but necessary tasks of infrastructure renewal and maintenance. (It's boring to me but not so boring to good civil engineers.)

Japan has the best infrastructure in the world because they have the most civil engineers per capita and because they spend the most money per capita on infrastructure. Their bullet trains kick you know what. We need to follow in their footsteps asap. We need to subsidize engineering training, by reducing tuition, by giving out more scholarships, and by guaranteeing employment after graduation. Let's not stoop to having crews from India come over and build our bridges; if we can't or won't build dependable bridges, we are dead and buried as a society.

Nuggets 1 is outraged and very, very sorry about the horrible bridge failure. Shame on all of society for it.

We have only the best wishes for the Timberwolves, their fans, all residents of the very prosperous Twin Cities area, and all residents of the True North. Garnett and your bridge are gone, so now you have to build new bridges toward your future. Look back on the massive historical accomplishments of your great party, the DFL, and go forward to build new and better bridges, as those who came before you did, as they produced one of the very best states to live in. Peace.
